Daumen runter EN - Suggestion: Voting Limitations

For the whole time i have played on Let's Rock Server, i have never seen so much unnecessary restart and next track voting... this has come from the majorly of players that haven't at all tried to complete a track or as they say and i know this all too well (because i used to say it)

"This track is shite" blah blah blah

I think its time to restrict this a bit aye. Through Local Ranks, say the only people that can vote restart or next track are people that have earned the right say LR 1 - 150 or 200... Saves the massive headaches of content

"Next press F1 now" "f1 f1 f1 f1 f1 f1" blah blah blah.

I thought I'd bring up this suggestion for feedback and for some i know this will be a Flaming contest.

Re: Suggestion: Voting Limitations

Well, these are certainly good ideas, but there are a few complicating factors...

As far as TMF is concerned, there are only restart/next/kick/ban (60/75/75/80 vote ratios, respectively). Aseco manages the records, commands, and all that other stuff -- so it it becomes a bit complicated when trying to combine the two.

There is the new callvote function in Aseco (used with /add or /replaymap, and can be adapted to virtually any other function), but as many have noticed it's not quite ready for prime time. Alternatively, I suppose I could create an aseco plugin that could 'send' a custom callvote to TMF -- but then there is still the fact that if Aseco crashes, all votes will be disabled...

All in all, I can just say be patient for a little while longer, and hopefully we'll have a concrete solution.

AW: Suggestion: Voting Limitations

In my opinion it´s generally the best option if only the admin(s) has the right to start a "restart" or "next" vote.
So you have a much nicer gaming expierience, because you aren´t disturbed by voting on every track. There are some really annoying voting kiddies out there.

In that case you must have a good jukebox system, too. I mean a limitation of one track per player in the jukebox or something like this and of course it shouldn´t be allowed to jukebox a track if it was played lately (e.g. the last 5 tracks)

Re: Suggestion: Voting Limitations

In the past I've tried pretty much everything. Disabling the votes was fine at first, but unfortunately the trolls become wise when they couldn't be votebanned and went crazy (not always an admin on to take care of it). The jukebox is fine enough -- have to be in the top 500 ranks (harder than it sounds) and can only juke one track at a time -- but eventually I would like to change it to the 'vote-juke' like in the TMF server.

I never tried it, but I think you could seperate the votes in the dedicated.cfg file since forever

.....
<callvote_timeout>60000</callvote_timeout>
<callvote_ratio>0.5</callvote_ratio> <!-- default ratio. value in [0..1], or -1 to forbid. -->
<callvote_ratios>
<voteratio command="Ban" ratio="0.65"/>
<!-- commands can be "Ban", "Kick", "ChallengeRestart", "NextChallenge", ... -->
</callvote_ratios>
.....

Just set "next challenge" and "Challenge Restart" to -1 and kick vote maybe to 0.65 and ban to 0.75.

Re: Suggestion: Voting Limitations

Unfortunately it's not the votes that are the problem, but the players that misuse them... Don't want to punish all players for the actions of a few.

Restart/next/kick/ban ratios are set to 60/75/75/85, respectively.
